I thought these people were pathetic sheep when I was growing up within the church, and even more now at 40. Every time they open their mouth, they prove it time and time again! I haven't been on this site in months probably, and it's still business as usual. Ex-JW's sharing the stories the WTS wishes would have stayed in the closet (Unfortunately for them the internet brings the global community together and secrets about the JW's internal dealings don't stay a secret forever!), and of course the nosey, busy-body witnesses who can't help but surf the web in search of "apostate" sites to try and puff their chests at. Some things in life go hand in hand: bread & butter, peanut butter & jelly, Jehovahs Witnesses & mental illness. Bottom line. Anyhoo...Nice to see Markus & James are still giving a few of these paranoid little buggers a run for their money. I look forward to their comments when I happen upon this forum. Keep up the good work gentleman. Oh, and one last thing...What was Prince thinking?

I also studied to be a JW for 18 yrs but did not commit cause something wasn't right. My questions were never answered to my satisfaction. It will do you well to listen to James-non jw cause it will save you a lot of time. Read your Bible not theirs, do research on the group. They may mean well but they lead to somewhere you may not want to be. The Watchtower Society and the "faithful and descreet slave" are not God. You follow God's rules not mans or theirs!

James,

I also get very tired of giving the same arguments to newcomers on this site. I now copy my comments into a scrapbook, and paste them back when required. Saves a heap of time.

Cheers,

Have I even read the Watchtower? Perhaps I should start by asking that instead of showing up to these so-called apostate sites and after reading a few comments, decide to lecture everyone on your vast knowledge of the Bible. You should instead take some time to read our comments from days & months prior, so I won’t have to re-type or copy & paste the same stuff over and over again for every JW stating the same lame arguments.

Well, here it goes again.

I used to be a JW for approximately 16-18 years, so yeah I read the Watchtower.

On the subject of the Watchtower merely writing what’s in the Bible, my first question is why do you need the Watchtower? Read the Bible, besides you would be much better off.

Albeit no one has the right to question God’s authority, we DO have the right to question the Watchtower’s authority, do you not agree? Or should we blindly & ignorantly believe everything they say, without checking?

To attempt to mirror or see parallels with science and the Watchtower’s discernment is absolutely laughable at best. At least science doesn’t assume anything; they test and check every notion or hypothesis to determine its authenticity.

So, with this in mind, let’s discuss the Watchtower Society, I would be more than happy too.

As far as stating that I am indicating that God has failed on his prophecies, I didn’t say that and please DO NOT attempt to propose that the Watchtower is infallible or inspired of God. The questions/statements below prove otherwise.
Based on the Watchtower’s ideology/prophecies and the so-called ‘fact’ that its all from the Bible, please answer the following:

1. Where in the Bible does it say Jerusalem’s temple was destroyed in 607 B.C.E? How is it they came up with that date, yet not one historian, scholar or archeologist agrees with it?
2. Where in the Bible is 1914 stated as initially the end of the world and then later the start of the end? Did the Bible change its meaning during the time period?
3. By the way, how are you guys making out with the “generation that won’t pass away” starting in 1914? Any of these folks still alive?
4. Where does the Bible say, thou shall not smoke? I agree that smoking is bad for you, however so is obesity, yet no one is disfellowshipped for that.
5. Where does it say in the Bible that only JW’s will be saved?
6. Did you folks honestly think the Bible was written just for your religion? Did you think that Jesus & his apostles knew of your existence thousands of years before?
7. Where does the Bible condone practices of hypocrisy? Since the good book didn’t perhaps you can explain why the Watchtower was an NGO partner with the UN for years? Could you also explain why they own companies that manufacturer weapons?
8. Speaking of hypocrisy, are you comfortable with the quiet, irresponsible attitude and handling of the rampant pedophile problem within your faith?
9. Since when would the judgmental attitude of the Watchtower & the average JW be approved or have been practiced by Christ, wherein which they criticize all other faiths & dogmatically push their agenda?
10. If all prophecies of the Watchtower are truthful & from God himself, how do you explain the fact they have wrongfully given dates for the world on at least 5-6 occasions?
11. In one of your or someone else’s earlier comments it states that there weren’t any prophecies of the Watchtower. Are you new to this faith? Everyone knows their ill-fated prophecies, how about pre-1914? What about 1925 or 1975? Do your research and you will find that these are only some of their ridiculous prophecies.
12. Speaking of getting prophecies wrong, how about Rutherford building the palace (named Beth Sarim) to welcome back the Bible prophets, only to have the buildings quietly sold years later, because they blew it again.

There are a ton more questions; however these are for you to answer. To be truthful, I typed this out for others as much or more than for you, as just about every single JW never actually answers these types of questions. All ex-JW know full well that you can’t, what are sad are the emotional responses that usually follow our comments.
Please do yourself a favor and research this religion since its infancy, Russell’s use of the occult, spiritualism & pyramids for example. There is also Rutherford’s insanity & drunkenness, all the while running the show like a dictator. Every pillar of truth in this religion is nothing more than baloney.
Put down the kool-aid and start doing your homework, after all its your life and you don’t want to waste it on a faith or ideology that’s false do you?

Thanks and God Bless.

A prophecy that has not come about, do me a favour.

Better still give me one that has come about, please do not give me rampant crime and lawlessness, 10 years from now it shall be worse, this I can assure you and I am not a prophet.
Pray tell me only one prophesy in the Bible that has come about, and I shall shoot it down. King Caphius the king of Babylon depending on which version I, II, III, or IV was alive when Babylon was decimated, never to be inhabited again, a pretty good prophecy where you lot use to recruit more worker bees for your organization, this however does not lot so good maybe for Isaiah, for both you and I can book into a hotel on line in Babylon, which was to be decimated, and never again to be inhabited. Isiaiah was an Old Testament version of a wino or redneck, which is why the good book, perhaps is held in such high regard.
In this good book, we have more pornograprhy and violence that would ever have been allowed in a pre- 80's movie or novel. It (the Bible) was written so long ago, it must be true.
I as an outspoken Atheist, probably can counter any argument you can conjure from the Bible, what I cannot do however, is explain our origions, our world is indeed beautiful, and at the same time cruel, an all knowing God could be accepted, but sorry, not Biblegod, if there is a God out there he has as much compassion for us as a great white shark eating it's prey. Perhaps HE is observing us as we do observe our ant farm, when a few thousand ants decimate 6 million others he takes a few notes in his book and makes observations. This God will neither ressurect us nor expect us to praise him by playing a harp or by any other form. This has always been a ploy by thieves and liars taking advantage of a gullible people who think they are too intelligent to die.

Cheers,
Markus
