I too have had a similar experience. I fought as much as I could til had no more energy left. The hardest part was not having the support of my family as I struggled with the issues. But I have now learned to hold my head high as I have realized this does not define me. However it was many years until I was able to do this. My trials began at 13. I am now 30 and finally able to move on. As more information comes out into the open, more Jehovah’s witnesses who posess any type of cognitive ability will see with ‘open eyes’ what kind of hypocrisy lurks beneath the surface.
This will be hard for many. I think of my mother, father, sisters,and brother and how they love god and goodness and family. None of this is wrong. But when the moment comes when they see that their devotion is undermined it will be a sad day for them, for me too. Because I love their goodness, and their kind hearts, and their hearts will ache. Beautiful people. Lied to. They will never be the same. Just as I am not the same. Tarnished, dissillusioned. Tired.

In my opinion your comment is very pertinant, the very minute you start thinking for yourself and raise difficult to answer questions; this precipitates the raising of an invisible shield which is designed to incapacitate the accussor. Be it by fear of losing the so called ‘truth’ and being doomed, or merely having your family who you care for so much turn against you.
A downright bloody abhorrence which cannot be condoned by even the least spiritually or free minded human being. At least main line Christianity gives you a free get out of jail card: repent and you are saved, these bunch of morons offer you nothing but misery for your thought provoking actions, so that when you feel you cannot take it anymore and feel the need to rejoin the cult,you will be humiliated by for ever how long it takes for some underserving elder to decide to take you back, whence everyone in the congregation re-congratulates you, and will bother to say ‘hello’ again.
I personally do not believe in Biblegod and if this is the way to everlasting life HE can take it and shove it up any orrifice HE deems satisfactory.

It doesn’t seem to me that they always punish the right person. I don’t understand it. I have been wronged too, lost alot of friends, my fiance, my job and eventually my faith due to lies and rumors spread through the hall. it seems to be the way they do things. they don’t get rid of the person that is doing wrong. they try to get rid of the person that wants to try to address the problems in the hall.
