My Sister's Letter
By Rado Vleugel
A letter I received from my teenage sister shows the
unhealthy
indoctrinating effect of Watchtower-doctrine on young people
A few days after I appeared on national television (see my
story) talking about my dissident view regarding the blood issue,
I received a letter from my sixteen year old sister.
My sister is a very vivacious, open-minded and independent girl.
She loves the attention of boys and dresses like a vamp. She is
also a baptized Witness of Jehovah. The elders and her dad aren't
always charmed by the way she dresses. She openly criticized the
position of the woman in a marriage.
Summarised: She isn't the most exemplary young Sister in her congregation.
Sadly her nice character doesn't prevent her against the mind-control
of the Watchtower doctrine.
In the letter she wrote me you will see her mind is full of fear
for Satan and his demons. This rock-hard letter is totally in contrary
with her loving character. I am not a very emotional person; but
I cried when I received this letter from my beloved sister. I don't
publicize her letter to blacken her reputation, but to show the
world the dangerous side-effects of the Watchtower Society. She
really is a nice girl!
She wrote it wasn't me talking on national television; it was the
demons. I am convinced it wasn't my sister who wrote me this horrible
letter; she spoke with the tongue of the Watchtower Society.
The letter
Monday 7 December 1998
Dear Rado,
I write you this letter because I have to unburden myself. Maybe
you find it strange I do this, but I have heard everything about
your doubts. I have also seen the videotape; that's why all sorts
of questions arose inside of me. I haven't had the opportunity to
talk with you, that's why I do it this way. At home, no one knows
I am writing you this letter.
First of all, I want to say that you have caused everyone great
grief. Not only Jehovah and the angels, but M*** especially comes
to mind. Also, we at home, and all other Jehovah's Witnesses that
you know.
You have given Satan and his demons the most wonderful
time of their lives.
I hope you realise that you have given Satan and his demons the
most wonderful time of their lives, and a lot of pleasure, and those
who (I hope) are your nearest and dearest, a lot of sorrow. Which
of them is the most important, Rado?
At the time you had 'only' doubts I could understand you partially;
everyone has doubts sometimes. But when I heard you quitted going
from house to house and above all stopped visiting the meetings
regularly it did hurt me. I never expected this from you.
Maybe you think I want to cause you grief with this letter. I write
you this because I want to do something that makes you think, and
shows you you are wrong with these issues (despite your conviction
regarding these issues).
I want to ask you to think deeply about everything daddy, the elders
and others, including myself, have told you, and listen to our arguments
.
The ones who practice these things shall not come
into Gods Kingdom.
Now I want to speak about your view regarding blood transfusions.
The following text already know, Acts 15:20, tells us you have
to abstain from blood. If you should indeed use it (in one way or
the other) it is equal to idolatry and adultery. You know the ones
who practise these things shall not come into Gods Kingdom
..
I heard you have major problems with the fact that we may use "some"
stuff during a surgery but we are not allowed to take the whole
blood itself. You believe the only thing that is forbidden is the
eating of blood, and that it is okay to receive a blood transfusion.
You have to understand that Act 15:20 says we have to abstain from
blood. This means you aren't allowed to eat it, but all the other
ways are also forbidden. Blood transfusions included. In the Hebrew
Aramaic Scriptures you can read that eating blood is prohibited.
Of course at that time it was the only way to obtain blood. Why
do you want 'to save lives' by making the blood-issue so important.
Do you really want people to live a few years longer with the help
of blood transfusions (if they don't die because of the transfusions)?
Or do you want to sow the seeds of discord and doubt in all the
congregations? Or do you want to be right?
I didn't expect that you should become 'a false
prophet'
Happily, it is foretold in the Bible. But I didn't expect you should
become 'a false prophet'. The thing that gets me is why you exhorted
all Jehovah's Witnesses to tear to pieces their Medical-Directives.
We all promised Jehovah to obey him on the day of our baptism. If
someone doesn't agree with the blood-issue, he or she must not be
baptized. If this is the case he/she isn't worthy to be baptized
because that person doesn't obey God's commandments.
Are you possessed by demons?
When I saw your appeal on the videotape I knew it was you sitting
there; but in my view it wasn't you talking. Are you possessed by
demons? What's the reason? Maybe because something you bought or
received on one of your journeys? Or because you have made contact
with other people (on the internet) who are possessed by demons?
Maybe you are sensitive to demons by nature and because of your
doubts you are open for to their influences.
When you are my dear brother again...then I want
to continue our association
I thoroughly hate that your view is contrary to the Bible. The
Bible does say that you have to hate the view of someone, and not
the person itself. I don't want to blackmail you, but I want you
to know what my opinion is when you continue to propagate your completely
wrong view. I love you very much Rado, you are my big brother. But
if you continue to resist Jehovah fiercely, and show this to everyone,
I choose Jehovah above you. It is painful to write this, and I don't
know if you find this awful, I hope/think your answer is yes. I
have to consider you an apostate and do not want to have any (or
not much) association with you. I hope you'll never bring it to
that point. When you are my dear brother again and when you bring
not even a single JW or someone at home to doubt, then I want to
continue our association. I'll always love the brother who isn't
possessed by demons and is normal again, like a year ago.
Another thing I don't get is the fact you said on television that
you still agree with other views of Jehovah's Witnesses. Do you
do this to drive other people to their death? It was plain lying,
like you first pretended not to be the person who appeared on television.
Do you know how many people recognised you (± 10 who I know
and maybe more)? My confidence in you is quite damaged. I don't
know if I can believe things you tell me in the future. I hope the
confidence in you will soon be restored
Because of this situation I have developed a stronger relationship
with Jehovah and I have accepted the male authority. I have promised
Jehovah during my baptizm to obey his commandments, and I'll certain
do this. I hope you will also keep your promise
Save people for the eternity, don't drive them
into the second-death
Rado, please save people for the eternity, don't drive them into
the second-death.
I want you to know it is very stressful at home. Mum looks bad,
other people do notice this as well. Dad is quickly irritated and
I am eating very unhealthily. Mum doesn't have appetite. This shows
we all are very concerned. The little ones don't understand it,
but it hurts them also. M*** and M*** are crying. Me too. Others
from our congregation who know/knew you (it seems you are another
person now), have cried also.
you aren't thoroughly bad
I hope you have regret everything you have done. I know for sure
you aren't thoroughly bad! I hope to have reached your heart and
helped you to start thinking. I hope you don't just read through
this letter and afterwards don't meditate about it. Realize this
isn't you but the work of Satan and his demons. Do you want to please
them, or the one who shall make all things better, with the love
of Jehovah God? You'll be unhappy after a while when you continue
all these things.
I hope you realise your spiritual health is thoroughly bad; you
have to get rid of all the things that caused this; despite the
difficulty of it. ...
I love you very, very much Rado, but I absolutely don't love Satan
and his demons. I would love to help you come back in the truth.
I'll be there for you.
Oh, yes, if you want to appeal your disfellowshipping, consider
you are going against your promises and that it is a lie if you
say you agree with the rest of Jehovah's commandments.
I hope again to have reached your heart and helped you to start
thinking. I want to live with you forever on a peaceful paradise
earth.
A lot of love and greetings from your little sister,
xxxx
