Milton Henschel, 82, Of Jehovah's Witnesses

Milton Henschel, who served as a member of the governing body of
Jehovah's Witnesses since 1971, died March 22 in his Brooklyn home.
He was 82.
No cause of death was given by the Jehovah's Witnesses public information
office. Henschel lived in the Brooklyn Heights complex of buildings
that house the Jehovah's Witnesses headquarters and had been a member
of the staff since 1939.
Since 1992, he was the president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract
Society Inc. of Pennsylvania, and the Watchtower Bible and Tract
Society Inc. of New York State. The two corporations are used by
the Christian group to conduct their business affairs. He also served
as president of the International Bible Students Association.
Originally from Pomona, N.J., Henschel underwent several years
of religious training at Jehovah's Witness institutions in Brooklyn
Heights. He became a minister in the group in 1934 and oversaw ministry
activity in 150 countries. He is survived by his wife, Lucille and
a brother, Warren.
