To post 1675—If I still recall from my days of being a witness John 17:3 says: This means everlasting life, taking knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ” – I don’t see the word Jehovah, nor do I see it staying anywhere that in order to get accurate knowledge one must be a jw’s.

To post 1662 I cannot speak for everyone in here, but I much rather follow “traditions” (passed from generation to generation) than following the watchtower. Tagging a Kingdom Hall is not the answer to his frustrations. If he did not like the control & manipulation he received in the JW religion — he sure “jumped out of the frying pan…into the fire.”

That is a bald-faced lie. Hemoglobin, a blood fraction (actually it comprises 97% of a red blood cell…hardly a fraction) that actually carries the oxygen…is ‘allowed’ by the WT. BUT, in a trick the WT loves to use…they say it’s a “conscience matter”. For those reading this that aren’t JW’s — that is ‘JW speak’ for “YOU BETTER NOT DO THIS !”

JW’s — think for yourselves ! You cannot take “whole red blood cells,” right ? If you take out the hemoglobin (97% of the cell) what do you have left ? Basically, the cellular membrane — that’s all ! NOT BLOOD ! The real “BLOOD” is the hemoglobin ! SO, WTF ?

Due to the fact that we are all imperfect that is expected, my question to you though is, instead of leaving completely why didnt you change halls. Every congregtion is different and different personalities sway certain view. I have been a witness my entire life. My Dad has been an elder for over 20 yrs. I have seen brothers step down off the body due to them feeling that things werent going like they should, and even change halls so as not to be included in certain things. I’ve also seen entire bodies be deleted because of how they handled things in the congregation. But what i dont like is how that because of a few bad apples the organization is labeled.

I agree with you. I studied with the witnesses. I think they are better than any other organization that says they worship God. They have a lot of faults, but that comes with any large organization. I should hate JW’s becase they disfellowshipped my mother after years of service to them because she didn’t agree anylonger on how they portrayed Jesus. I don’t like how thay make you their friend and draw you away from other people in your life and if you are disfellowshipped, you have no one. Because you drove your worldly friends away. But I do they have it mostly right. By the way, I would never be one of them, I don’t have the strenth.

Mama, I was a witness for 15 years and my wife all her life. We left because of abuse that went on for about 5 years and the elders kept on covering it up. I did not agree with other elders on the outcome (silent reproof) at the judicial committee, after all the abuser had been told again and again to stop it. See, because the abuser confessed was pardoned once more. I could not just believe it, after all we were supposed to maintain the congregation clean.
My conscious would not just allow me to be part of such an organization any longer, so I discussed the matter with my wife and we both left, and vowed never to return again. After disassociating ourselves we found lots of lies and inconsistencies within the org.
I am not here to judge, we usually leave that to the witnesses that come to this site, they are very good at that.
