Disfellowshipped Jehovah’s Witness vandalizes an Assembly Hall by spraying Graffiti on the Walls
Disfellowshipped Dasun Allah, editor of the hip-hop magazine The Source and now member of the Islam-based Nation of Gods and Earths, “tagged” the assembly hall to expose the religion’s “hypocrisy.”
A disfellowshipped Jehovah’s Witness admitted to vandalizing a Jehovah’s Witness assembly hall in New York’s Harlem neighborhood.
Dasun Allah, editor of the hip-hop magazine The Source, told the New York Post he “tagged” the building to expose the religion’s “hypocrisy.”
Police were called to the scene where Allah had painted a number of cryptic symbols, but the graffiti had been painted over by then, the Post said Friday.
Allah, 32, said he was disfellowshipped more than 13 years ago and now belongs to the Islam-based Nation of Gods and Earths.
“They said I didn’t fit the criteria, because, to put it lightly, I wasn’t a choirboy,” Allah said.
Based on an UPI article

Somebody in the Wilsonville Oregon congregation an congregation overseer named Ron Jr. McLinsky gave a talk that the congregation is a country club atmosphere and if people in the congregation desire to fit in they must be liked by all the family members or they will be expunged. True Story
This guy is just an idiot. So you go from being a Jehovah Witness to the Islamic Nation. Does that not say something right there. As far as fitting into a criteria, what do you mean? To do what the bible says and I know witnesses and they don’t have a “choir”. He’s just a dipstick and needs to be put in his place and apparently he was and got pissed off!
To Dasun Allah,
What does it take to change the essence of a man? If we as humans can not understand that our actions and thoughts are powerful and they need some direction in order to think pro and con about a situation or positive versus negative. Where is the mental and spiritual growth. JW’s teach from the scripture to think higher than mortal man, if that was not your purpose then why are you complaining. Maybe you wanted something different out of developing a relationship with a higher power. You forget that Adam’s first relationship was with his heavenly father,his creator, not a man. Our relationship is to be with our creator-because we did not create ourselves and deserves our respect, honor, and obedience. Going to get fed spiritually comes from the scriptures first, then an organizaton that strives to live according to his Word. If your intent was not to develop that spiritual relationship-hush your foolishness! You sound like a faithless one according to PROVERBS 14:14 (The one faithless at heart will be satisfied with the results of his own ways, but the good man with the results of his dealings.
You know your dealings are not to be selfish or cruel if you had developed he fruitage of God’s spirit.
And no JW’s do not have choir’s, they all sing together. Find fault with yourself as an imperfect human.
AMEN!!!!!!!@ERIC
I cant even say I know what you wen thru but I have had 2 major surgeries as a young Jehovah’s Witness & I know that isnt true. There are certain parts you can accept. Any decision you make is from your own conscience. I dont know why they told you mom & dad that. I am truly sorry for that but you cant blame Jehovah God & the rest of the organization for what those two IMPERFECT people did. You know more then anyone else on the blog that you have to watch your association inside the congregation and outside. NO ONE ON THIS EARHT IS PERFECT. We will all make mistakes. You have to live above them, not almighty but kindly forgive freely just as out heavenly father forgives us everyday every time every moment we slip up. I am sorry to hear of your lost also. You know that there is an hope of life on earth so dont leave Jehovah now. Draw close to him and dont let the world & its imperfectness get you.@Rabbit
I know that this guy, hip hop magazine editor is a liar. If you were to go to any person who is a Jehovah’s Witness they will glady tell you the truth which he refused to share. He is not a disfellowedship person, he is an apostate. An apostate is a person whom use to be a Jehovah’s Witness and maybe wither was disfellowedship or drifted away & turned against Jehovah altogether; they are opposed to them. In the Organization, the elders dont just disfellowship you for not being “a choirboy” because in our congregation/ halls where we meet there isnt just a small group of people singing, it is everyone singing together. So that play on word makes no sense. Anyways, persons are disfellowedship because they have commited a serious sin against themselves, the bible and ulimately Jehovah God our heavenly father. Then they instead of using their bible trianed conscience to repant with see their mistakes, they feel everything is alright. So to protect the congregation & others who are learning also, they are disfellowedship but not thrown away, the elders visit them to encoruage them and they are still welcome to attend the meetings. I just felt it was needed to hear the truth, some of it. The rest you will have to get by asking the next Jehovah’s Witness you see.
Hi again Jones,
I am of the opinion that most of mankind are good. They are a gullible lot as well,
I think the churches know this and thus thrive. I also feel good to donate money to good causes which I have done even although my financial situation this year has been piss poor due to the lack of work in my field.
It is remarkable that the Rotary club of WA has raised over $600 000 for various good causes this year alone and yet had to move to a private home for meetings as the rental for the meeting hall could not be afforded. When I spend hours selling raffle tickets for a couple of dollars I know it is going to a good cause.
I think most churches follow Rabbi Rabinovitz’s example when he says “I take all de munny what da people give, I put it in a pile, den I trow it all up to heaven. What God catches he keeps, da rest is ours”.
Heck I was dead for quite a long time before I was born, the thought of returning where I was does not bother me a bit, what worries me is the actual getting there, hopefully quick an peaceful.
Cheers,
Markus
@Markus
My Friend,
Many people are dreamers. Many people have family that have died and left a great void in the lives of those of us that are left behind. You know my history of depression. I am not proud of it but I hang onto dreams and hopes of something that is beyond all of this. Abraham left this life believing that this was a journey into something better. I don’t listen to the Peggy Lee song asking Is this all there is? I am in my twilight years now and I hang onto that dream. I want the happily ever after. The day may come that you soften a little and look into a more permanent piece of real estate. Could you imagine walking down eternity boulevard and seeing me walking in your direction? You would most likely get a charge out of the thick southern accent.
Hey Jones,
Ja you are correct, there is a good factor of some churches out there, and I know a lot of help for less fortunate human beings on this planet is achieved through organizations both religious and non. I applaud these good folk, misguided or not, they deserve a gold medal. The hearts of these people deserve to be placed on the most high next to the almighty to remind him how things should be done by loving entities.
Empathy is a normal human emotion, and is in all of us in one form or another, it is, I think, a form of self preservation. I certainly do not believe the Bible has sole rights for the credit of this emotion.
When I kick the bucket I have no anticipation of going to heaven and kissing the ass of a deity who just cannot get enough of it, especially for the next billion kazillion years, the knowledge that I will carry on in a minor way through my children will suffice.
Cheers,
Markus
@Markus
We all make choices every day. Some are made with reason and others are made because we feel good about them. Hey, don’t let the likes of our ilk drive you up the wall. There are good people doing good things all day every day. There are bad people doing just enough good things to make them plausible so that they can get what they can from others. As long as this world exists there is evil as well as good. You are painting all of us and all of them with the same brush. When you admit that there are people who do good and it is doing good for others and they benefit from that good then it is good! We are not motivated by resentment and hate. Just remember that faith is not achieved from being able to prove to you or to anyone for that matter some solid fool proof evidence. At that point it is not faith that we are walking by. We take it or leave it. That is the way it is and if that makes me stupid or whatever, then that is that.
@Markus
If I were a gambler and really assessed the outcome of my decision with the stakes that are in front of me, my bet would be God. My reasons are simple. I give up nothing that is valuable. I am freed from guilt. I choose to love and not hate. I do not make choices resentfully. I am not deprived of anything that I need as a result of my choices. Most of all I do not resent God.
Recently I was privileged to travel to a foreign country. I found some seed from a tree that I wanted to bring home. Someone asked me if I would declare the seed. They could have been easily hidden in my pocket. I declared them and I was able to bring them home. If I had smuggled those seed, I would have been plagued with guilt but they were not worth the struggle that would have plagued me. Not a big thing maybe with you, but it was for me.
I cannot imagine waking up in the mornings and facing a day thinking that this life is all I have. Then again if I thought that it is all I have there is not anything to keep me from taking all I can from others and living in the biggest house and driving the biggest car and living as large as I can. I can’t take it with me but just seeing how far I can go could be the reward and rush that sustains me. When I look in the face of those that I love and know that this is it and it is all over when they close that lid and put them in the ground, just how empty is that? Wow!
Jones,
I always find it extremely remarkable when Christians use the argument God is God and so therefore no matter what this so called loving God does it is considered wise and we as mere mortals are not to question any of the good Lord’s actions.
As Christians cannot come up with a more plausible argument and resort to this tactic I cannot even try to argue, for this is impossible.
What I can do though is show you how the silly story of Adam and Eve is not unique to the Bible, it was borrowed from the Mesopotamians who were around about six centuries BCE. Even if you disagree and say that their version is too different from the version in the Bible to have been plagiarized, common sense tells us that literate civilizations were around well before the time period as described in the Bible, actually by a few centuries which means Adam and co were not the first humans.
If you actually believe an infinite punishment for a finite sin is just and fair
I am sorry, I give up.
The Hitler youth were similar, their Fuhrer or leader could not do any wrong no matter how misguided his decisions, even in the latter period of the war those that were not killed in battle bar a few intelligent chaps were confident in their leader.
Why do I bother? Well I am of the belief that religion is the scourge of this planet. It is greed ridden coupled with Taliban type mentally, there will never be peace until well after I am long dead in my grave, when the myth of Jesus is placed on the same shelf as Jupiter and Horus.
I cannot help but get pissed off with the Pope when he gets out of his bullet proof pope-mobile and preaches to gullible recent African Catholic converts that the use of condoms will increase the AIDS epidemic.
Cheers,
Markus
@Markus
My Friend,
Our differences begin in the first paragraph of your reply to my comment. I accept that there is a creator and He makes the rules. His rules are not to be argued with or compromised. What He says, He means and that is the end of the matter. Until we recognize that He is not like us and is not into compromise or turning the other way, that there are consequences. He gave Adam and Eve rules and Eve broke the rules and Adam followed suite. Not simple to you as you argue the matter.
Jesus was a sacrifice. He died on a cross. We follow His teachings and we will rise again from the dead as He did. Not simple to you but I accept that.
If we had all the evidence you wish, then you would be walking by fact and not faith. I accept that, you don’t. If you read the letter to the Hebrews you will see the writer explained the sacrifice and the faith of Abraham and the prophets. I believe that and I accept that you don’t.
You can also read the book of Esther and the story of Haman and the price that the Jews almost faced because they did not follow God’s command. Yes, some of the rules are hard to understand, but God is the creator and it is incumbent of me to follow His lead. His reasons are His, not mine.
If God is right then the best days that you will ever experience is now and my worst days that I will ever experiene are now. My best days are to come.
You have obviously made your choices, but I wonder why you choose to toy with us and are seemingly so annoyed with the fact that we don’t share your mind set. I get along quiet well and by living my life the way I do, I am comforted. I don’t have any questions about whether I am right or wrong. My mind is open and I listen to others and I check out the whys and reasons. I believe (faith) that I will find the right path only because I am open to change and work to finding the right and perfect path. I don’t call you foolish or find it unreasonable that you have ditched the whole faith thing. We make choices and that is the beauty of this God thing. You make the call.
@Jones
I think you generalize when you say ‘you will find the truth …… some have given up’. Since I left the JW group many years ago, I started looking for the truth.
Ironically it was in this quest (lasting a mere 14 years+) that turned me to what I am today, a total non-believer, certainly as far as the so called loving God in the Bible is concerned.
I cannot believe in a God who has done the things he has. Starting at the garden of Eden. So Eve ate the fruit, big deal, was he preventing her from doing this deed? No, he was hiding behind a bush and after she ate he jumped out and shouted “Now I got you”!
When my kids were naughty I used to scold them, sometimes I even gave then a wack on their bum. I never gave them and their offspring the death penalty, because unlike the God you hold so dear I love my children.
The Bible says so clearly that the The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin” (Deut. 24:16). According to the Christian faith Jesus needed to come and wipe out this original sin. Slight contradiction perhaps?
This same Christian faith that repeats that we are sinners, and unless we listen to their message and pay our tithes whose threats are perfect clear, we are doomed.
The only love going around is the churches love of our hard earned money.
Please present me with evidence in the Bible that will make me understand this Stalistic, Hitlerite type god you so admire.
Maybe Satan has blinded me but I really wish to see how Jesus was sacrificed for me, especially since I cannot see a sacrifice. God had a son he still has the same son, where oh where is the sacrifice?
If I as a normal good chap wished to be saved why would a loving God send me such a garbled message. If I had to jump out a plane with a parachute with instructions on how to use it I would clearly need a simple instruction like: strap parachute on your back pull rip chord when out of plane. I would not expect a 500 page instruction manual.
At least this is what I would do if I loved my creations.
Cheers,
Markus
@Anonymous
Sorry, read you wrong there. Actually I love fishing myself. I find it more fun than being bulldozed by horse manure, and then having to pay for it.

@juan miguel
In a perfect world and open minded people your suggestion would work. Problem is, we have Jehovah Witnesses and Latter Day Saints with a different text. You have the Muslim and the Hebrew texts. You have the King James and many translations since that one was written. No one wants to listen to anyone else. That leaves each individual with the responsibility of sifting through all that is available and continuing to do so and never being satisfied with just one or the other. Somewhere in all this if you have faith in a God, then you will find truth and you may be surprised at the simplicity you uncover. It takes a lifetime of study and research. Many have given up and decided that religion is not for them.
@Paul
true chritian?if you are really a true christian you should be very concerned about the future of someones who is knocking your door and carrying a different faith. if you are a real christian you should not avoid them? teach them what you think is right and dont leave them to destruction. Is it logical? this should be moto of everyone who boasting the truth.
In your own words would you define the word so that we may all understand just what it means? We all throw words around and use them to our advantage and when we belong to something that is closely associated with the group that resembles that word, we get defensive instead of really looking at what the words really define. Someone somewhere came up with the word “cult” but no one wants to be associated with the word. Wonder why is that”
@Paul
Any time a person uses the word cult, they are trying to manipulate the reader/listener/observer.
jw is a bunch of bs it is a ridiculous and exaggerated way to live life
I lived next door to members of this cult. They are the most self righteous cold people I have ever met. Considering they spend many hours invading people’s privacy every Saturday morning, you would think they would be a little more personable. After all, aren’t they the chosen disciples spreading the good word?
Thank the good Lord; I was raised as a real Christian in the Anglican faith.
PS. Markus, I don’t play harp, I love going fishing!
Actually Markus, I do not believe in God! I was merely trying to make a point to Alene that if one believes the bible (I DON’T!), one does not to work hard at it or enjoy to the end as the good book clearly says it is a gift from God. It is by faith not by works.
Completely sorry you misunderstood me, Are you having a bad day??? I will have a dark and stormy on your account.
Cheers
I don’t know what the Jw’s have been telling you but according to the bible you just have to believe to be saved, forget about works. According to the scriptures below one does not have to endure (Mat 24:13)to the end to be saved
Eph 2: 8 By this undeserved kindness, indeed, YOU have been saved through faith; and this not owing to YOU, it is God’s gift.
James 2: 16 knowing as we do that a man is declared righteous, not due to works of law, but only through faith toward Christ Jesus, even we have put our faith in Christ Jesus, that we may be declared righteous due to faith toward Christ, and not due to works of law, because due to works of law no flesh will be declared righteous.
Rom 3: 28 For we reckon that a man is declared righteous by faith apart from works of law.
Gal 3: 26 YOU are all, in fact, sons of God through YOUR faith in Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:22 — The righteousness of God is given through faith in Jesus Christ, to all those who believe.
“Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference.”
Acts 16:31 — Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.
“They said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
John 3:36 — He who believes in the Son has eternal life.
“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life;
Galatians 2:16 — Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ
Alene, as of 2005 the WT was making a $980,.000.00 per year profit on the WT and AWAKE magazines. So please spare us the propaganda of the donations concept.
Why do you thing the WT keeps reprinting the same books again and again (Revelation as an example) calling it updates? If the information is from God is is good/accurate does it need to be reprinted in a newer version??? It is all for pure prophit!
Please open your eye you dumb ass.
Although you are correct that Jesus died for us and is thus our salvation, Matthew 24:13 shows that only the one that endures to the end will be saved. So Christs’ death is not an automatic reward of everlasting life.
And we do not peddle God’s word, but as I’m sure you would agree that when you go to Office Depot or wherever for printing supplies, they are not free! Likewise as we distribute literature if a person wants to contribute to that printing, we accept their donation or we ourselves donate to that printing.
Brain dead? It’s fun to generalize over 6 million people with strong faith in doing God’s will and say they’re all braindead. Everyone in my family except for my younger brother has at least a bachelors degree and a good GPA. We don’t live in a small little world like you would like. We just live our lives according to the Bible.
Your type of generalizations and steriotypical thinking is the exact same that racist have. You generalize an entire group of people based on your personal opinion of them. Alot of the people in my congregation have successful businesses and are well educated, some work crappy jobs, some have decent jobs, some make alot of money, some people like myself make decent money, others make very little. We all come from different educational backgrounds, (for instance, my family doctor is a witness, and my moms property attorney is too) But to say we’re all braindead is not only incredibly ignorant and pathetic, but You’re not even making a legitimate insult cuz it’s not based on any real facts. And calling someone brainwashed is the easiest thing to do, no matter what I can say, all you say is: “You’re just brainwashed, that’s why you can’t understand” -very intelligent.
At least he thinks and ponders life with lots of deep thought & consideration. We all know how skin deep you & your JW clan think.
If Fri wishes to even bother, I’ll let him handle the majority of your comments except for the one I wish to point out.
Yes, the JW clan do not sell their publications in North America (sure they don’t elsewhere?); however they are encouraged to ask for donations. Albeit you are probably cognizant and gullibly believe the Watchtower reason for why they changed this policy some years ago, however the real truth is that they were concerned about paying taxes. Do a little research and you will quickly find out that the JW clan is no different than any other religion, false, hypocritical & highly self-righteous.
Markus
Hard to believe God loves even the likes of you.
To ber, if they are braindead, shouldn’t you join them?
You were a Witness? Hard to believe, since the Witnesses DO NOT SELL their publications. They are given freely and without obligation. Having been one, should you not have known about this?
You know very well that disfellowshipping does not mean excommunication. It allows a person to change his/her ways and be accepted back into the congregation. You knew that you were always welcome in the Kingdom Hall for services, you were NOT thrown out.
You are outright lying when you say that the Witnesses preach that people go to hell if they don’t become a Witness. They do NO SUCH THING.
A burger instead of filet mignon? (that would be the CORRECT spelling). How magnanimous of you!!!!!!!
Such sacrifice…NOT!
Get real, spoiled child.
Idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
To Tee (Comment ID: 186501) What path is that you talk about? Enriching a corporation (watchtower) by selling magazines from door to door hardly qualifies as doing god’s work. Kindly show me a scripture that shows Jesus sending his disciples from door to door selling the magazines and I just might change my mind and join the org.
Hell my friend is what you are living under the rules of the watchtower.
I no longer am a JW, I am a very successful businessman and live a great life, a life that most Jehovah’s witnesses envy and dream for, as I was told many times while being a witness. I have more morals then most witnesses I knew while being a member. It is so fascinating how witnesses think that in order to have morals one has to be a witness.
I don’t blame God for what I don’t have; neither have I thanked him for what I have. Yes, we all go through trails that sometimes are unbearable, the only thing being witnesses will suffer more then others due to the lies coming out the beast, namely WT.
Then, you have the nerve of mentioning Materialism, let us for a moment look at the great WT, isn’t that what they are all about? Apparently the end of the world is just around the corner, that being the case why are they still buying/accumulation so much property? Would they benefit more by selling everything and giving every single witness a couple million dollars and say: GO PREACH FULL TIME AS THE END IS NEAR.
Love is different things to different people. To me love is donating my time for people in need, I am part of big brother big sister program that spends time with children who do not have parents or the parents do not care about them. I help meals on wheels, a program that caters the needs of the elderly. My wife and I are also very involved with the Red Cross. We donate to various charities. Love to me is when I feel like eating a Filigminon and I have to settle for a burger because of helping people in need. That is what love means to me, what about you? Going from door to door selling magazines and telling people that if they don’t become jw’s they will be destroyed, manure on the ground???
Yes, my friend everyone is just creating their (not there, there is a place) personal lame excuses, and yours is pathetic I might add.
As for screwing the neighbor, let me just enlighten you on something. Every year over a 100,000 witnesses are disfellowshipped over sexual matters (I sat on many judicial committees, I know what I am talking about) if they are not screwing the neighbors or fellow witnesses as you don’t believe they are capable of it, they must be screwing themselves, which to my opinion is a bit odd.
At the end you put the ice on the cake by claiming you are not a witness. liar liar pants on fire. But just in case you are not, BECOME ONE!
James,
Well said, could not have put it better myself.
Seems Korangod with all his good moves of having woman’s faces covered has even a stronger hold on good folk than Biblegod who has less radical ideals.
I wonder which one is correct.
I personally would hate to get to heaven as a Biblegod supporter and find Korangod on the thrown. Maybe hell would’nt be such a bad place to be.
Cheers,
Markus
Think about it this way….
How could you go wrong if you follow the path that leads to God (Jehovah)? If you do believe in hell… Is it possible that you will be punished for living a good life to the best of your ability? If you lead sick sad and disgusting lives then that is what your future will produce. We all go through trails that are sometimes un-bearable, but if you have a chance to have a new life filled with happiness why not WORK towards it??? Isn’t that how you MATERIALISTIC humans work for what you desire? But you can’t work to live a descent life in the eyes of GOD??? Come on!!! His expectations for us aren’t much that we would expect from our kids. Have morals, be clean, and love?? Too much huh? Then maybe you should look at yourself twice if you feel that these expectations are too much to meet. *I will pray for your children* Now how many can say you know what love is??? Love has trials and it gets hard. Really hard but it is unconditional! So when your receiving all these blessings there is a possible chance that GOD is real?? Then when it get’s hard you curse his name???
Everyone is simply creating there own personal LAME excuses for why they choose not to follow the path to GOD. Mostly for disgusting selfish reasons like: Just being able to do whatever, whenever, however, you please. Just like spoiled brats. You hate the thought of having discipline in your lives which is really sad. JW’s are about discipline and showing a genuine love for god rather than just saying it, you are required to show it. Just like you would have appreciated your mate showing you that he/she love’s you rather than saying it and screwing the neighbor! I’m not a witness, nor do I live a perfect life, but how could you judge these people for trying to live as clean as possible? Everyone has to find there way. You can either chose to LIVE with good clean morals, or DIE filled with excuses!
Simple minds?
Sorry we don’t read code….Hey clown, you show up and without so much as bothering to study any background on others, you assert your judgmental better than thou comment. I am trying to understand the ridiculous and infantile comments like your original posting.
You should pay close attention to the fact that Islam just like Christianity is just another man-made constructed faith. You can go on all day regarding your faith and whatever you were instructed to think & say, however that proves nothing.
Do some objective research into your religion, rather than pretend to be above others in scholarly matters.
Perhaps when you have waken to the reality of all this nonsense, as well as the immature and illogical statements by the MJ fans here, then maybe will you realize the real truth.
to make it simple for those of simple minds the religions that so many in the world have fallen victim to through blind “faith” and ignorance of the universe that unfolds mans true exsistence. those who truly know god know that they are god himself “allah” arm,leg,leg,arm,head even leonardo da vinci understood mans true self
WTF?
Where are all these people who either have English as a second language or are deliberately trying to be a pain in the ass?
Speak something sensible, okay?
peace DAYSUN ALLAH the colored kind of man is lost along with 85% of his kind I&I understand that allah manifest I for I am ISLAM and I shine by the light of knowing I god therefore all religious falsehoods are irrelevant
Sorry to bother you again Markus,
but there is one other aspect of the JW view of God and the world that you seem to have retained, and I really don’t know why this one, of all things:
I am talking of the idea that somehow we all must DO something for our own salvation. JW seem to teach that we ourselves work our own salvation by doing certain things, like, in their case, pepple pamphlets and so on.
You, similarly seem to think that somehow God DEMANDS things from you, or else. Well, we have things like the 10 commandments, but even they are alled Torah, “guidance”. They exist to help us along, not to provide a code of requirements for salvation. That very legalistic approach, as particularly prominent in Leviticus, is the “law” Christ and the apostles were in fact preaching as “fulfilled”, or, if you like, past its sell-by date, in our language.
The overwhelming message of the bible is not what You need to do for God, but what God has done for you.
After the whole story is told, it just boils to one simple thing: all humanity is already “saved”, unconditionally.
That is the bible’s final message in Christ. We, none of us, contribute anything to our own salvation at all, and selling magazines or even really good works make no difference at all. It’s already happened, the bible teaches, through that final chapter of God revelation, Christ.
Therefore to most Christians anything to do with “good works”, is a grateful response to the message, an acknowledgement, not an attempt to “get saved”. Similarly, to most, an attendance of a church service is less of a duty, but more of a grateful response, an attempt to set some little time aside to think about such things.
Having said the general message is that all humanity is saved unconditionally already, and the destiny of all humanity is eternal life with God, there is however only one way a person can be made an “exception”: If any person said, finally, and in all knowledge, that he or she does not want this gift of salvation, then that wish is respected. The devil, much caricatured bu the JW, serves as a prime teaching example here: He rejected his own destiny, so he was made to accept the consequences. There has been much speculation about what hell really means, and the bible images of it seem to us today very odd. Essentially it is that “place” where there is absence of God, where those go who have rejected his offer. The suffering of hell the bible speaks of may be more of an image about the regrets of what might have been.
There is a wonderful little book, called “The great Divorce”, by CS Lewis, which deals with such matters in the form of a novel. It was, I think, recommende somewhere here before, and I know it well. It really is a great read, no matter what you believe. And it is written by a real writer, a good one, not by some committee in the watchtower.
OK, you say a loving God has to be a fantasy, and I would disagree there. I guess I have “taken” and you have “left”, as beliefs are either taken of left. This is your conclusion, and I respect it, I hope you can do the same with mine.
Mark,
Thanks for the reply.
Fact is if you read and understand yourself, you probably believe yourself. You are so convinced of a superior God, in my experience I can’t touch that.
Here is my own personal view, and I mean no offense:
When I die I will like every other creature on this lovely planet will rot and make the soil very slightly richer.
What the heck, a sad thing especially as far as I am concerned, but for me to burn in hell for evermore because I never believed in a loving God has just got to be a fantasy, and our early Bible writers should justifyably get this punishment, as they are the real nasty pieces of work.

Nobody is trying to fool you. Read a reputable bible commentary and you find that the story of Noah has parallels in other mythologies around the Middle East. It is really little more than an adaptation of these very old stories, trying to give them a religious meaning.
The origins in fact are probably found in the catastrophic flood of the Black Sea, about 12000 years ago, when large areas were permanently flooded by the failure of the Bosporus land bridge, close to modern day Istanbul. This is the most likely “historical grain of truth” in the story and the other, similar accounts, like Gilgamesh, but there is no clear proof of this, either. Some say, there is no historcal connection at all. Either way, this makes little difference in the meaning of the story.
The story claims that this flood was caused by God’s anger, but the real message is at the end, when the rainbow is mentioned. It foreshadows the covenant to come. However terrifying God’s anger, in the end God shows mercy. That is what the author is trying to say with his story. His message is a religious one, a theological point, if you like, not a historical account.
The truth Noah’s story tries to convey is not about animals, deaths or Australian snakes, for goodness sake, it is a story about anger and repentance, a story about punishment and reconciliation, destruction and reconstruction, about end and beginning, about a God who can punish as well as relent.
This picture of God, quite crude at this point, is slowly refined more and more, from Noah, the angry and then relenting God to the saving God in Exodus, the Teaching God in his commandments, the “guidance” (Torah), to finally he is revealed as fully as we can know Him, in Christ.
To say that Noah’s story tells us anything about the origin of animals, is to completely misread it; you may as well say it’s a manual about boat building or the art of navigation by dove.
What are you trying to say? Only the dogs (jehovhas witnesses) will survive?
The Sydney Funnel web spider has venom deadly to humans and monkeys but dogs are not killed by it.
Go figure.
Nice little job by WordPress.
