      @Jones

Yup this is the beauty of our universe. A watch or other meticulous instrument will never come about by itself, no matter how long the pieces are stirred or shaken. The universe does not have a need for a watch, if it did for whatever reason it would make one. Now before everyone says “jeez Markus now you’ve really lost it”! I think it was George Carlin who said that in a billion years after man has obliterated himself so that there is no longer any trace of him, except for plastic. Maybe thats what the universe wanted all along, plastic. So all the ingredients for getting a life form were put together and man evolved over the eons, created plastic, and left the Earth, if he does not wipe himself out another virus like HIV only a million fold more deadly can evolve. Simple, the universe now has plastic and it only took a few billion years, which is not a very long time in the grand scheme of things.
Ok I know you won’t go for this and neither do I but it is food for thought.

As far as faith is concerned, I do not have faith in God not existing. Now when I talk about God here I am referring to Biblegod. I have evidence of Biblegod not existing. All this evidence ironically come from nowhere else but the Bible.
I could rant and rave for hours on end about the genocides, inaccuracies, and contradictions found in this so called divine and inspired book, but we have heard them all and I get tired of beating the same beat on the same drum.

Humans in my opinion, are the only species on this planet that have the intelligence to ponder on how we got here. Because this answer cannot be explained we have dreamed up the simple unprovable answer of a God or Gods. Throughout any recorded history of any early civilized man there has always been God/s, be it the Red Indians, the Messopotanians, the Egyptians, the Azteks, Incas, there always has been a divine being or object being worshipped.

Ok thats enough, just now folk gonna think I got nothing better to do.

      Cheers,
      Markus

Hey Markus, Mr. Lowry in his satire brought up a point that I had never considered. It does take a great amount of faith to be a non believer too. Faith is a hope with no evidence no matter which side you are on. I don’t think that the Timex watch will by shaking the bag readjust to a working timepiece if it is shaken six million years. Order from total chaos through some kind of big bang or whatever turbulence is more than I can imagine.

I have many friends who do not share my belief. The influence I may have on these people is certainly lost if all we concentrate on when we are together is our faith differences. Because of my profession I am constantly in contact with the Gay community. All of these individuals are sensitive, creative, caring, and usually loyal. I have learned much over the years because I was not always condemning them for their lifestyle. I have a friend who is Seventh Day Adventist and we cannot discuss our differences of belief. We have so much in common and I can start a project and she can finish it and achieve the same results as I would have. She was an employee for about a year and then went on to greater things. I do not have any Jehovah’s Witnesses friends because they are not allowed to have a friendship with me because I for some reason may taint them. I just have you an apostate, but I am ok with that. I even take all the whippings and come back for more. Glutton for punishment that I am.

Aw shucks here is another one for you. Apologies in advance for misquoting but this is how I remember it: Farmer goes to preacher after sermon. “Father will you stop preaching about hell so much, it upsets me and my family, can’t you rather teach about gentle and humble Jesus”? Preacher responds “but Jesus is the one who taught me about hell”.

Remember hello, it is your God who made me an Atheist, for if it was certain He does not exist then I would not be an Atheist.

Hey if everyone agreed with everyone the world would be a real boring place.
Thanks for the link, I am relatively familiar with Mark Lowry’s work. Mark Lowry in my opinion has to be one of the funniest people alive today. He brings in humor and uses it to make fun of atheists and others who may have different opinions to his.
He does his best to be funny and it is actually hilarious watching him. He has this side kick, forget his name tall guy, long hair, beard does his best to look like Jesus, when I see this guy singing my wife closed the door because I am laughing so loud. Pity George Carlin is dead I would have loved to have seen George and Mark have a friendly dip at each other on stage.

      Hi Mark,

You mean the “book of fables”?

Can you believe this, Daniel had visions.
During the reign of Cyrus the ruler of Persia, Daniel
had a vision. The vision was about two kings, king of the south
(Iran) which is a part of what as originally Persia, and
      the king of the north.

I do believe you hit me with a double barrelled shotgun here. I accepted a very long ago that I was most likely spitting in the wind by even suggesting debate without rancor. I guess it ain’t happening in my lifetime and that can’t be too many years from now.

Anyway for the record, I do not follow the law of Moses. I do believe Jesus spoke those words to the Jews alone. My covenant is with Him after his sacrifice of death and resurrection. He promised that his law would be written in my heart. Sounds like a fairy tale doesn’t it. My kingdom is a spiritual one and not in Mecca. My judgment would be swift and certain If I lived in certain parts of the world. So my sacrifice would be here and then in the afterlife if I did not follow Alla.

It is wonderful that I can love you even if we disagree. The idiot that I am.

      One more thing.
We have two kings building up their forces in the world today,

The king of the north will oppose him, I wonder if you are a subject

Now here we go again, the typical fundamentalist Christian in typical funnel vision. God is Good, God orders the rape of virgins, this must be good, God created us he must be good. God ordered little boys to be thrust through with a sword, shite but God must be good for he created us. Jeez Uzzah must die cause he knew the rules ‘Do not touch the Ark’, hey Joe can you cut us a bit of slack here? I only meant well?
If we need to take the OT literally here I rekon 60% of all western women should be put to death as they were not virgins on their wedding night.
If you agree with the above I must offer my condolences. If you say OK the rules have changed you are a hypocrite, for Jesus himself said ‘if you do not follow the law of Moses you do not follow me’.
What is it to be?? I ask with crocodile tears in my eyes, must we listen to what is inspirationally portrayed to us in the OT. I’m ok, remember us males are almost impervious to any sexual discretion, as a male I will be good come judgement day but my poor wife may beg for mercy saying it is her second marriage,
but the Lord will say sorry rules is rules, off you go to be stoned and, I, as it is my wife I must throw the first stone.

When in the name of Thor are you idiots going to realize the Bible is a bunch of bunk written by old fools many years ago.

What is the word for God in Arabic?
What is the word for God in an arabic bible?

You seem to be confused about religious history.

The islamists have copied their texts from the jewish bible
and christian bible, yet they claim that Abrahan, Moses, Jesus and
others mentioned in the bible muslims.
No wonder, you have something in common with them.

      @Markus
Did you throw the baby out with the bath water? Did you read about the atrocities and not understand the reason behind the acts? There is much that I don’t understand but with the act of killing the two men who caught the Ark of the Covenant. They acted in good faith but they broke the law. The Ark was not to be touched by them. They touched it and by their death the people surely understood that the rules are to be followed or the consequences of their acts would be suffered. The same was true with the strange fire.

If you agree with me that my odds are better than yours, then why are you not looking for someone to debate (besides me) that can give you their understanding of what you find so offensive about God? Debate and dialogue never hurt anyone. You may find a little better understanding of why so many people disagree with you. We know that you hate God or the belief in God. You are not alone in this belief. However there are just as many people who oppose you. Aren’t you just a little curious as to why we are so gullible?

Anyone with any knowledge of biology are left scratching their head at some of the acts of the animal kingdom. Why does the female spider in some groups enjoy their male sperm donor for dinner after the act? Why does the cuckoo bird lay her eggs in another birds nest and allow the other bird to hatch and feed their young? Hmmm I know some people who do that. I expect that there has been a lot of nail biting since DNA has been discovered.

As far as me loosing my head by Alla or Mohammed, I am not frightened with those odds. There is still a better chance with my choices. I think it would be really cool if we could meet in our eternal bodies and have a sit down and meet our families (yours and mine). You could tell them that I just would not shut up and they would find that a pretty accurate statement. On occasion I was called the mouth of the south. At least I spoke my convictions as do you.

You mean in comparison with the absolute rubbish that is written in the Bible. Yea right the Earth is flat and is only 6000 years old. I cannot stop you in your quest for ignorance.
Here is an interesting scenario I heard the other day. You are in a foreign country
and are walking alone at night in a suburb you are not familiar with. A group of young men are walking toward you. The question is this: Would you feel more or less comfortable if you knew that this group had just come from a religious meeting?

If you were a Christan and them Islam I might get a bit worried. In Northern Ireland you better not be a Catholic if they are Protestant. Many different combinations can happen but personally I think I would feel a lot less comfortable.

      @Jones

Could be, yep mathematically speaking you will have the better odds. The existence of God is not something that can be calculated using a computer.
What will you do when you get to heaven and Allah is on the throne. “Infidel Jones
what is your explanation for not bowing to me every Friday? Off with your head and to the fires you go”. How stupid must it sound before one starts thinking?
As I said before, perhaps there is a God out there, an impassive God that is not interested in us praying to him. Maybe bees think that the beekeeper is God and pray to him, it is unlikely that the beekeeper expects this.

What I read in the Bible tells me about a mean God, a God with double standards,
a God that will forgive a man for murder, and then kill another for merely putting out his hand to prevent the ark slipping off a wagon.
I cannot see a loving God creating a wasp that injects its eggs into a caterpillar
so that when the wasps young hatch they eat the host while still alive. Personally I would in this instance prefer that this wasp evolved and was never created.
      Cheers,

In the end when we meet whatever fate be it like the dog Rover or an eternity, my odds are better than yours. If I am right and there is a God and Jesus is real, I win and you loose. If you are right, we both loose. I like my odds better. In my position, I look forward to the time when I will see my soul mate and others. I have given up nothing and had the greatest position of being able to rid myself of all the burdens that we tend to carry around our necks. Whether it is fact or fantasy, I can let go and let God. You may call it a crutch or whatever but I can handle that. Your religion failed you. I still hang in there with my God. Which of the two of us is better for where we are? I talk to God. Who do you have when the days get almost too hard to face?

I browsed through this critique and one again I find the same old argument, this professor has stated in a massive essay in high English what could be summed up in a single paragraph that should go something like this: ‘I disagree with what Dawkins is saying because the fact that species may or may not evolve (in my opinion it is impossible to evolve), has got zero to do with the fact of a creator existing. Professor Willard raises the argument I always raise: who created God, but in reverse, he states the Blind Watchmaker should be more accurately called ‘The Blind Watchmaker Maker’. Professor Willard then proceeds to say: “How dare you (Dawkins) write this drivel in a manner that it is a fact and not a theory”?

A pathetic critique in my view coming from a professor and so called philosopher, who has clearly taken the position of a man who considers a viewpoint contrary to his own as an insult. The idea of natural selection goes over his head just like a neurosurgeons theory will pass over a mechanics head.

I did not read the Blind Watchmaker, I will not either because I tried to read Dawkin’s ‘The God Delusion’, I got about halfway and got fed up with him writing in English that only professors and attorneys will understand.

What do you mean I have no idea what I am playing with?
Evolution does not have all the answers. There is plenty a scientists cannot answer, but guess what? They are going forward, DNA, the cure for smallpox, TB and many others sicknesses were unheard of not too long ago.
Bible bashers like you are going where? Some of you nowadays disagree as to whether
the Old Testament is a book of stories that ever really happened, but were put there for lessons to be learned from. Some former Christians are saying the Earth is not a touch over 6000 years old anymore and give the most ridiculous explanations as to why only 6000 years can be calculated. The Christian faith is splitting up more rapidly than a living cell reproduces itself by meosis, and every new faith believes all the others are doomed.
Does this not make you think at all? Are you so bound up in your faith that your mind is impervious to any rational reasoning?

      Hi,

Mark, do you have a wife and kids?

You have no idea what you are playing with.

Have scientists discovered a complete fossil with the closest link
      between ape and man?

Why did not all the apes evolve into men?

The apes who evolved into men evolved in pairs, a male and a female, am I
right? So the pairs that evolved reproduced further or did the earliest
      men reproduce with apes?

Apes that evolved used hair removers, so men have no hair on their backs
and those men who have a little hair on their backs have not yet completely
      evolved.

From which creature did we inherit the moustache?

About the evolution of certain organs of the apes, I leave that little
interesting bit of research to you.

Please leave the apes to themselves, they certainly don’t have a problem.

Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t have to try very hard to get Atheists to shut up because we don’t want to talk to you or discuss anything with you in the first place. I don’t waste my time and breath attempting to “convert” delusional christians. The JWs don’t bother me because I once told them a story that I was a disfellowshipped Special Pioneer, thrown out for fornication and tobacco use, neither of which I am going to stop. Ever since, when passing my house, they walk on the other side of the street. Hahaha….

Just ask the Christian: ‘Who created God?’ These kinds of questions yours and mine may be answered only by speculating on theories.
The atheist/scientist is at least doing all they know to get answers, based on ‘research and evidence’, unlike their Christian counterparts who get all their answers based on ‘faith’ which itself is based on ancient myths recorded in a very inaccurate book, and when asked these thought provoking questions, they shrug and the give the empty answer: ‘Only God knows’.
      Cheers,

      @Sheila Rae
Just read the classic “The Blind Watchmaker” by Richard Dawkins where he explains “the very improbable”…

Just ask the atheist: “Where did DNA come from”? No living cell can start out without it.

I still find it remarkable that Christians professes to be able to keep the Atheist quiet by asking the same questions that Jesus asked.
Atheists to not believe Jesus existed.
Atheist do not believe the crock written in the Bible.
      Don’t you get it?
      How stupid are you?
If a Muslim quotes the Quran to you will you be converted? No because you don’t believe the Qeran.
      Get it?
