6,000 Years Nearing Completion… The fact that fifty-four years of the period called the ‘last days’ have already gone by is highly significant. It means that only a few years, at most, remain before the corrupt system of things dominating the earth is destroyed by God. Today, many years later, we may ask, What does the phrase ‘the immediate future’ mean? How many years are ‘a few years at most’? .. According to reliable Bible chronology, Adam and Eve were created in 4026 B.C.E.. There is another way that helps confirm the fact that we are living in the final few years of this ‘time of the end.’ (Dan. 12:9) The Bible shows that we are nearing the end of a full 6,000 years of human history. What significance does this have? When God gave his laws to ancient Israel, one of those laws involved keeping the sabbath day holy. On the seventh day of the week there was to be no labor. The people were to rest from all their toil. (Ex 20:8-11) The Bible states that ‘the Law has a shadow of the good things to come.’ - Heb. 10:1. Revelation chapter 20, verse 6, shows that God’s heavenly kingdom will rule over the earth for one thousand years after the end of this system of things. That millennium will bring a sabbath-like rest to the earth and all those then inhabiting it. Hence, the first six thousand years since man’s creation could be likened to the first six days of the week in ancient Israel. The seventh one-thousand-year period could be likened to the seventh day, the sabbath, of that week. - 2 Pet. 3:8. How fitting it would be for God, following this pattern, to end man’s misery after six thousand years of human rule and follow it with His glorious Kingdom rule for a thousand years! … only seven more years from the autumn of 1968 to complete 6,000 full years of human history. That seven-year period will evidently finish in the autumn of the year 1975… Concerning political instability, former U.S. Secretary of State Dean Acheson said in 1960: ‘I know enough of what is going on to assure you that, in 15 years from today (or, by 1975), this world is going to be too dangerous to live in.’ .. [Chart] 1975 C.E. END OF 6,000 YEARS .. In the book Famine - 1975! food experts W. and P. Paddock state: .. ‘I forecast a specific date, 1975, when the new crisis will be upon us in all its awesome importance.’

Hello out there in nowhere Landia, who are we to determine the thoughts of God and when he will send his Son again? No one knows the day nor hour of the return of the Son of man, only Jehovah God Almighty. Saying a year is not a date or time is obsurd. We are to rely on Jehovah for understanding worship Him in spirit and truth, through his Son Jesus. Also. we are to reason in harmony with the scriptures not by any manmade Dogma, test mankind through the scriptures and judge righteously through them. How can we say we Love God, and yet hate our brother, think of it who is our Father, Jehovah God Almighty, Who is our Brother, Jesus in all honesty. Jesus has his Father’s name in him. So, if we hate our brother we hate our father. The world lies in the spirit of error all religions mankind in general and everyones is a known it all, its Not God’s Way, of the way the truth and the life, what Jesus shared as the Logos when he came to earth. But, my way of the highway, very big that highway, very narrow the rode that leads to everlasting life, not many are on it. “For there are many invited, but few chosen.” Mt 22:14
None are worthy not a one, none are good not a one.
God is good!
Peace is Lu

In hindsight, it’s surprising that anyone jumped to the conclusion that God’s day of rest began immediately after Adam’s creation or that Eve was created soon after Adam was.
Here are some Bible facts should be noted:
1. Eve was God’s last creative work (No scriptural mention of any work done afterward).
2. God’s day of rest began at some unknown time following this.
3. God’s day of rest began BEFORE Adam sinned. We know this because the Genesis account says that “God looked and saw that it was GOOD and there came to be evening and…morning…a sixth day.” If Adam had already sinned God would not have been able to conclude the 6th day and start the 7th and observe that things were “good”.
4. ALL spirit creatures know the day and hour of these two events (Eve’s birth and Adam’s death as a perfect man–the time of his eating from the “tree of knowledge of good and bad”.
5. Only God knows the exact timing of the beginning of His 7th day.
If it is true that Christ will reign during the last 1000 yrs of Jehovah’s 7th day, then all spirit creatures know the date at which Armageddon cannot occur before and the data at which it cannot occur after (A. 6000 yrs after Eve’s birth. B. 6000 years after Adam’s sin)! We humans on the other hand know neither of these dates or do we?

When did the 6000 yrs begin?
Answer: Nobody knows except God.
BUT!
What we may have a clue regarding is the age of Adam when his wife was presented to him.
In 1st Corinthians chapter 15, a comparison is made between Adam and Jesus. Why did Jesus begin his ministry at the age of 30? Why did his ministry last 3-1/2 years? May it be that the timing of these events in Jesus life were chosen to parallel the timing of events in Adam’s life? In other words, at the same age that Adam married Eve, Jesus in essence, married his earth assignment and at the age upon which Adam forfeited his perfect life, Jesus sacrificed his own in ransom.
It is only speculation, but If Adam was 30 years old when he found Eve in the garden, that would explain the words “…at LAST!”, which he spoke upon seeing her. Counting forward 6000 years would take us to the year 2005. If it is also true that Adam sinned 3-1/2 years later, then we have another key date–2009.
What does this mean if true? It means that the end could not have come before 2005 and will not come later than mid 2009! This is based on the speculative assumption that God chose the timing of events in Jesus life based on the decision to make them parallel the events in Adam’s life. Being that the entire purpose of Jesus’ coming to the earth and living as a human being was to undo Adam’s failure, wouldn’t it make sense?
At this point in time, it makes no difference for us to have this spiritual enlightenment, since the year 2005 has already passed! The end of 6000 years since the beginning of God’s day of rest and the start of Armageddon could occur at any moment now. It is comforting, however to have some basis to feel that the end will certainly come within the next two years.
It’s important to remember that this is speculation. Jesus said that “this generation will by no means pass away until all these things have occurred. The generation which remembers 1914 is dwindling fast but even in 2009, there will be a some centenarian+ people left who do.

Thank you for telling me so convincingly that the world will end in 2009. I must remember to sell all I own, to borrow as much money as I can, as I don’t have to pay it back, and then do something suitably crazy, like traveling to Mount Rushmore from here in Dubai and see if I can pee on a president’s nose from a great height, for example.
Also, it’s good to know I can happily murder anyone I dislike in May 2009, as I cannot get a prison sentence then, well, certainly not more than a month or so.
Do you think I should give up my job right now or should I wait a month or two?

Okay, you have the quote from 1968, what I am looking for (totally unable to find) is a quote from WT which retracts the statements about “6000 years of mankind plus 1000 years of Christ’s rule equals ‘God’s one day of rest (7000 years for each creative day).’”
The 1986 book, Worldwide Security Under the “Prince of Peace” starting on p. 182, indicates that Satan’s final test upon mankind arrives at a time when “Seven thousand years previously, Satan the Devil was able to induce the perfect Adam and Eve to sin by taking a self-seeking course of action.”
This is the latest dated clear reference that I find to even remotely indicate that Jehovah’s 7th creative day is 7000 years long. My problem is, they no longer teach this, but they have not said it is wrong.
My conlucsion: they want older JW’s to continue believing what they were taught, so they can die thinking they were right, while at the same time, they don’t want younger JW’s to start thinking along these lines, because they are serving past the time when this will not be fulfilled- therefore, they provide some support to their older JW’s thinking without connecting the dots.
