Blood Guilt

*** Awake!, June 22, 1985, p. 27. ***

According to the Bible, when we deliberately put someone’s life unnecessarily in danger, we could become bloodguilty. (Compare 1 Chronicles 11:17-19.) Christian parents would not want to incur bloodguilt by risking their daughter’s lives in this way [female circumcision].

[Emphasis Added]

*** The Watchtower, June 15, 1978, p. 25 ***

Avoid bloodguilt from (1) eating blood [blood transfusions], (2) sharing in bloodguilty organizations

[Emphasis Added]

*** United in Worship of the Only True God, 1983, p. 155 ***

The Scriptures show that if we are part of any organization that is bloodguilty before God, we must sever our ties with it if we do not want to share in its sins. (Rev. 18;4, 24: Mic. 4:3)

Your view is a bit skewed. You ought to be upset with those religions that allow willful sin to go on in the congregation. RE: Jehovahs witnesses they do not allow willful sinners to stay in the congregation. If there is a sheppard, elder etc… in the congregation that is molesting children he does not get sent to another parish or congregation. He cast out of the religion completely and turned over to the cops.

But many religions allow willful sinners to just stay in the congregation and corrupt others. That’s not ok. Those scriptures are not pertaining to (for lack of a better word) lesser sins, for we all sin and fall short of the glory of god. That’s why Jesus gave his life as a sacrifice.

Get a grip people. Many of you just don’t want to accept responsibility for you actions or lack there of. Even the law recognizes bloodguilt. There was a movie based on a true story where a woman was raped in a bar. Six men sat around and watched. Not all raped her but the others did nothing to stop it or turn the rapers in to the police. There was a court case that followed and those that just sat around and watched her get raped were convicted as well ( on a lesser charge).

If someone comes onto your property and they hurt themselves on your property they can sue you and win. Now granted those incidents have been taken too far.

If you are driving drunk and kill someone you are held a accountable.

If you are involved in a group that kills or hurts people, and that’s their purpose, then you are bloodguilty too, even if you don’t directly partake in the wrong activity.

I was at a party recently where they broke out with some cocaine. I left the party. I refused to even stay. Everyone must adhere to what their bible trained conscience allows. My son said that I should have called the police on the people but I don’t want my life or his to be in danger. Perhaps I should have. But I chose not to be a martyr.

Am I bloodguilty for that, I don’t know, maybe I am. You have to read scripture and attain to get closer to his ways everyday. I’m not saying that either of you are wrong in your views, but the truth lies somewhere in the middle for now.

P.S. I’m pretty sure I should have called the cops but I’m afraid to do that, I’m afraid of how that will affect my life and the life of my son. I prefer to preach to these people and hopefully they will turn their hearts to God and stop destroying their bodies.

Did you try reading past genesis, everyone who says they read the bible can’t even quote the ten commandments. When you tell them of the other laws within the bible such as the ones in leviticus they get offended or call you a liar.

If you go to the trouble to read parts of the bible with the bitter intent to “prove” those jehovah’s witnesses wrong, you may as well read the whole thing. To get an understanding of it, instead of reading an arrangement of words you dont understand to them or other people.

Try reading the vereses above and below to get an UNDERSTANDING of what you’re reading.
