Charles Taze Russell is buried at the Rosemont United Cemetery, 226 Cemetery Lane, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15237-2722. The phone number there is (412) 931-1017. The pictures below were obtained by one of our researchers. They were taken on Wednesday, 13 November 2002, at approximately 6:30am. That person can be clearly seen in some of the pictures. Although some have suggested we blur his face in order to protect his identity, he has suggested that authenticity is more important than privacy, in this matter, and feels that his presence in the pictures adds to their authenticity.
(Aside: Due to a time constraint on a business trip, this was the only time of day our researcher could access the grave site. The ambient lighting conditions were less than ideal, however the camera’s flash helped greatly.)
Do These Photographs Qualify as "Watchtower Quotes"?
The headstone and memorial at Russell’s grave represent a "quote" that is, arguably, more permanent than the books and periodical published by the Watch Tower Society. The words, thoughts, and feelings of the Watch Tower Society and Bible Students have been literally carved in stone. We feel this more than qualifies these photographs for inclusion in this web site. We hope to further expand this section and include Watch Tower Society’s literature quotes regarding the Russell grave and pyramid memorial.
