Comment by Daniel Chamberlayne (Comment ID: 315023)

My name is Daniel Chamberlayne.

I’m the author of the upcoming book…”The Kingdom Hall..No More”

The book is about my 16 years experiences growing up as a Jehovah Witness. The book will be out June 2008 via Author House Publishing.

The is my freshman book and many more interesting books to follow.

Here is an excerpt from Chapter 16- “Disfellowshipped” from the upcoming book…”The Kingdom Hall..No More”

“Then all the Elders closed their Bibles simultaneously. They said if I had anything else to comment on about the matter I should do so now. I thought long and hard. I really didn’t have anything to say. In my mind, I wanted peace and closure, to finally move on no matter what their decision was. I said, “No, I have nothing to say.” They stated that their position of being Elders was a very difficult one. They had to adhere to bible scriptures for reproving, correction and for discipline. It was not always an easy task but it had to be done in order to keep the congregation morally clean. Brother Ivory and Brother Badstone looked at Brother James for him to speak. What needed to be said finally came out. Brother James stood up and looked right at me. He was void of any facial expression. He said, “Danny, we have come to a unanimous decision that you will be expelled from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and no longer to have any association with Jehovah’s Witnesses in good standing until you produce works or fruits that is befitting repentance and find it in your heart to return to being in Jehovah’s favor. You are not allowed to participate in any Field Service activities and are restricted from commenting at the meetings.” Brother James continued, ”If you believe that a serious error in judgment has been made, and you wish to appeal the decision of this committee, you may do so by writing a letter clearly stating your reasons for an appeal. You have a week from today to do so. An appeal committee could again hear the case.” He then asked if I understood what he just said and I told him that I did. Then Brother James said, “If you felt that I or Brother Ivory or Brother Badstone weren’t fair in this decision, another committee can be arranged and that request must be in writing as well. If there isn’t a written appeal received by next weekend, we take it that you won’t be appealing our decision and an announcement will be made at the Kingdom Hall next Thursday night that you have been disfellowshipped. If you request to be reinstated, a written plea of reinstatement must be made to the body of Elders no matter what congregation you attend. You will have to go through us for recommendation.” He had a smirk on his face, sounding like the King of all Elders when talking. I guess he wanted to let me know no matter what congregation I attended; there wouldn’t be a loophole or a way of escaping them. I would always have to go through them because they were the original committee from where I was disfellowshipped. I didn’t care. I don’t remember if a prayer was said to conclude the meeting, I just remember leaving. Brother James dismissed me from his house like he would a dog. And then, it was all over. The double life was now single. There I was alone. I kept saying, “I’m disfellowshipped.” and started thinking about what that really meant. I felt like I lost everything but couldn’t really explain what I had lost. One part of me wanted to jump for joy. I wanted to yell and call all my Kingdom Hall peeps and tell them the good news. The other part of me wanted to hide somewhere. I was ashamed to be disfellowshipped. I didn’t want to be seen by anyone again. I only knew a handful of people that were disfellowshipped. Just about all of them used to study the Bible with me at one point in time. I would to see them after they were disfellowshipped months or years later, and they sure didn’t look well spiritually, mentally, physically and financially. They all had this lost look about them and they appeared confused about life. I wondered if I would become like them. Will Jehovah put a curse on me so I would never be successful no matter what I did in life all because I’m disfellowshipped?”

Matthew 2:2
“Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship (proskuneo) him.”
Matthew 2:11
They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. — World English Bible translation.

I am not with the JWs, but these heathen “wise men” (magicians) had no thought that they were bowing down to the Almighty Yahweh. They bowed before Jesus as a king; there is no indication at all in these scriptures that these “wise men” thought they were bowing before the only true God, Yahweh. The idea that Matthew 2:2,11 has anything to offer as proof that Jesus is Yahweh (the only true God who sent Jesus — Deuteronomy 18:15-19; John 17:1,3) has to be added to and read into the scriptures. In fact, these scriptures prove that the word “proskuneo” is not being used in the sense of the exclusive worship that is only due to Yahweh, for it should be evident that these “wise men” had no thought that they were bowing before Yahweh.

The Bible says that He is Jehovah’s 1st and only begotten son, the sole heir to the thrown, the appointed High Priest, the mediator between Jehovah and humanity whom will help raise it to perfection during the 1,000 year reign that the Bible foretells. He is NOT God, or Jehovah as many believe. As a matter of fact, the Jewish establishment’s main problem with Jesus when he was here on earth was the fact that he claimed to be the son of God, not God himself. If the latter would have been the case, the Jewish establishment of the time would have killed him sooner because it would have been considered blasphemy for anyone to to claim that they were God themselves. If you read the Bible context, you will find that Jesus is called a God, just like Jehovah called Moses a God when he said that he will make him a God amongst God’s covenant people, but you will never read that either Moses or Jesus claimed to be God themselves. As a matter of fact, Moses & Aaron were not allowed to pass to the promised land because they failed to honor Jehovah when they miraculously made a rock pour water, and Jesus himself said that he was not aware of the time and day when the conclusion of things was going to end. If you want to go deeper, Abraham and Issac were a representation of Jehovah and Jesus Christ when Abraham was willing to sacrifice Issac. Abraham’s unselfish act to kill his only son, represented Jehovah’s unselfish act when he sent his son to die for humanity’s sins. I can give you a Biblical lecture, but it would take a long time, but I hope this helps a bit. If you have any more questions, please post them & I’ll answer them. Man, I love this website.

The more common understanding amongst Christian is this.

“Who or what was Jesus” is a very common question and the answer is found in understanding the Trinity and the incarnation of Jesus.
The Trinity is the doctrine that there is only one God in all existence. This one God exists as three persons: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are not three gods, but one God. Each is a separate person, yet each of them is, in essence, divine in nature.
A close analogy of the Trinity can be found by looking at the concept of time. Time is past, present, and future. There are three “aspects” or “parts” of time. This does not mean that there are three “times,” but only one. Each is separate, in a sense, yet each shares the same nature, or essence. In a similar way, the Trinity is three separate persons who share the same nature.

The Incarnation

The doctrine of the incarnation in Christian teaching is that Jesus, who is the second person of the Trinity, added to himself human nature and became a man.
The Bible says that Jesus is God in flesh, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…..and the word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:1, 14); and, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form” (Col. 2:9). Jesus, therefore, has two natures. He is both God and man.
Jesus is completely human, but He also has a divine nature.

GOD

He is worshiped (Matt. 2:2,11; 14:33; 28:9)
He is prayed to (Acts 7:59; 1 Cor. 1:2)
He was called God (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8)
He was called Son of God (Mark 1:1)
He is sinless (1 Pet. 2:22; Heb. 4:15)
He knew all things (John 21:17)
He gives eternal life (John 20:28)
The fullness of deity dwells in Him (Col. 2:9)

MAN

He worshiped the Father (John 17)
He prayed to the Father (John 17:1)
He was called man (Mark 15:39; John 19:5).
He was called Son of Man (John 19:35-37)
He was tempted (Matt. 4:1)
He grew in wisdom (Luke 2:52)
He died (Rom. 5:8)
He has a body of flesh and bones (Luke 24:39)

As a man, Jesus needed to pray. When He was praying he was not praying to Himself, but to God the Father.

JW’s believe and teach that Jesus is not God, just look at John 1:1 in their bible, the end of the verse according to them “…the Word was a god” says that the Word (Jesus, (John 1:14), is a god other than the one true God. Think about that for a moment, if that is true then according to JW’s own bible they are breaking the first commandment (Exodus 20:3).

But if that is not clear enough, turn to Isaiah 44:6 “This is what Jehovah has said…’I am the first and I am the last, and besides me there is no God’. Now let’s cross-reference that to Revelation 1:17,18
17 And when I saw him, I fell as dead at his feet. And he laid his right hand upon me and said: “Do not be fearful. I am the first and the last,
18 and the living one; and I became dead, but, look! I am living forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and Ha’des.

Clearly Isaiah was talking about God (YHWH, Jehovah) and Revelation is talking about Jesus, in both examples there can only be and is only one (1) first and last.

Jesus is God!

To anonymous above,

Yep you are correct Jesus is God. Due to the fact that there is only one very dodgy account of Jesus ever having existed historically, this account being by Josephus which has since been proven to be forged by later members of the clergy, I can but only agree with you. Jesus=God=No God.

Cheers,
Markus

Who God has blinded, Jesus is God’s Son no part of the pagan three headed stone god. Jesus holds the keys to hades = the grave, he brings back the dead. God gave his Son the autority, Jesus didn’t give it to himself, nor pray to himself, nor worship himself.
