Actually the first prophecy is in the third verse of the Bible ‘Let there be light’.
It could be argued that this was not a prophecy, but merely an account of what happened, because what was prophesied had already come about, and I would very much tend to agree with you.
Does it not stand to reason, using this logic, that every Christian in the universe who claims ‘every prophecy in the Bible has so far come true’? Referring to the destruction of the Jerusalem temple as one example.
Seeing as all the events in the New Testament were written after the so called events in them happened, I must ask you does not the same logic apply? Apparently not, seems good Christians have their own version of logic. The Bible says it; I believe it and that is the end of all negotiations.
This is one reason why I as an Atheist, do not attack all religion groups, I have to admit some of them dig into their reserves (never draining them), and do a lot of good.
I prefer to attack the basis of religion ie. The Bible. It is so full of contradictions and nonsense regarding the Earth’s composition, that I cannot grasp the concept of an almighty creator trying to imply this looney tune information on us through so called prophets, who had the same wisdom as a cave man with the exception that they learned to scribble down their theories.
Biblegod is not perfect, despite what you think, the plagiarized fable of the great deluge is to any reasonable person is exactly that: a cute little children’s tale where a kazillion innocent men women and children lost their lives, but it’s ok cause God commanded it.
Far be it from me to decide what you wish to do with your short time on this Earth, I would relish it if you Christians would not try and pump your pathetic drivel down my throat. I was a Christian longer than I am now an Atheist
and I rue those wasted years.
Cheers,
Markus

marcus,
what is the 1st bible prophecy? Gen 3:15.
when is it completely fulfilled? soon. the 1st part was when jesus died in 33ad. time is allowed for people to make a choice, to have a relationship with God or not.
God knows when he will act. are you ready and waiting?
People who express dis-approval and/or opposition to something they do not believe or understand most likely have a “reason”. This reason can be legitimate or just plain predjudicial. In a previous commentary on this site it was mentioned that the human brain along with it’s attendant wiring into the five senses can be likened as to a fully-automatic video camera that records everything we experience in our environment from primarily our birth onward, even while we’re asleep. The exception was that this human recorder is lacking an on/off and erase button. Why? It is because Someone wants there to be an accurate record of what takes place in our lives, for either GOOD or BAD regardless of whether we agree to this or not. As any efficient clerical worker knows accurate records on file saves time and energy when research is necessary. Since the inter-action of the mind and heart results in what is known as “conscience”, the inner moral compass/self-polygraph that lets us KNOW right from wrong, we are obliged to find out how and why it works. We are judged acceptable or non-acceptable by the Person who made this possible. 1 Samuel 16:7/Jeremiah 17:9,10/Proverbs 15:3 An individual that is confronted with the powerful truths of the Bible, but knows his life-style is out of harmony with those lofty principles, will FEEL a sense of dis-agreement with whosoever is the MESSENGER bearing the news of redemption. This can be a good thing if the response is positive! But what if it isn’t? Then we hear as we have witnessed the above tirade against the messenger/s. The God-given conscience is going to RE-ACT bearing witness either for, or against the individual. That is why a WITNESS work has gone out amongst the nations to validate those who wish to side with Jehovah’s righteous government. Galations 1:10-12/Acts 14:22 The pathway into Jehovah’s Kingdom is fraught with peril, not easy, frustrating, you name it, simply because it is not of HUMAN design or origin! Humans have a natural tendency to follow the course of least resistance, however Jesus and the early Christians proved how unpopular this message is. Today, it is still UNPOPULAR, because it is not easy! So can we proclaim that it is not worthwhile? Consider this! From the year 1953 up to 1969 in the U.S.A. scientists and engineers worked feverishly on a government sponsored program that would ultimately land a man on the moon in July,1969. This was and still is hailed as one of mankind’s stellar achievements. How so? The many years of research and development would culminate in what is considered the most powerful man-made machine ever. THE SATURN V ROCKET BOOSTER! The booster rocket develops the power equivalent to 80 Hoover Dams, 7.5 million pounds of thrust! All for what? To allow an 85,000 pound payload consisting of 3 astronauts, lunar module/orbiter and lunar lander to break free of the earth’s gravitational pull, hurling it into space. The burn-time for this boosters fuel was a little over 2 minutes. Compare this fete to what some scientists refer to as visiting the stars. The velocity of light is considered to be 186,000 miles per second. At that rate it can cover 58,655,960,000,000 miles in one earth year, thus one light year. Multiply this times 969 earth years and it is said to calculate the straight line trajectory to the edge of our Milky Way galaxy. Taking this a step further, assuming it were possible, If a man-made space-craft could reach warp speed and maintain that speed non-stop, it would take 969 earth years to reach the galaxy’s rim. Concievably the astronauts would have to bring along their wives and procreate to overcome the 80 year life-span average. A minimum of 10 successive generations of original astronaut progeny would have to accede to the mission’s continuance of progress. When the 10th and final progeny reaches the rim, WHAT OTHER THAN HISTORICAL LOGS COULD THEY REFER TO IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH “WHO” THEY ARE AND “WHERE” DID WE ORIGINATE FROM? Having no earthly experience and being 969 LIGHT YEARS from what should be HOME, imagine how they would feel. Psalm 19:1-4 By reading the BIBLE comprehensively you can save yourself this exspensive trip!
reply to Fred Hall below:
Hi, either you are not a witless or you are the stupidiest witless of all.
The Towers of All Terrors (watchtower) and the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger (governing-bloody- body) not relevant to the witlesses?
Give me a break…
Assholes that complain that ex witlesses (like me) do resort to too much abusive speech, are you crazy? You have it bloody coming! Didn’t your clownish lord (the son of heathen pre-semitic sub-god yhwh) insult opposers too? You ever read the gospels? Not to mention how many times the fake version of the bible of the witlesses (NWT) calls the god of other people “DUNGY IDOLS” = GODS MADE OF SHIT???
One final things: if we, that according to you use abusive speech (that you well deserve seeing your embarassing postings)
were to use “non-abusive” words in that case you should really get upset. It seems a contradiction but it’s not. Why?
Try to get an answer for yourself if capable of connecting a few non-biased neurons together.
Br. Fred Hall here speaks the truth. I have been in the Christian organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 40 years and in several congregations in many different states and have served in many different positions of responsibility; in all of this time neither I nor any other elder or ministeral servant or pioneer have been unduly concerned about the internet. Infact, the brothers at Brooklyn know of my website and activities and there is no problem.
Instead of “bashing” God’s way of managing the “congregation of God”, perhaps it would do you well to study the Bible seriously and with the proper motive and see what it has to say for itself about the appointment of the anointed Faithful Slave class and its spokesman, the Governing Body. Everything that Jehovah’s Witnesses believe is solidly based upon the scriptures and has the backing of holy spirit. IF you ever were one of Jehovah’s people you would have known this. Humility goes a long way to gaining Jehovah’s favor and enlightenment.
Elyssabelle,
I have not much to answer to your comment, other than you are clearly not using your own thinking material. Think of how Armageddon is portrayed in many of your publications, priests with fear on their face running from collapsing buildings etc.
The JWs believe the world is doomed because Adam
ate of the forbidden fruit. This is a view taken by most preterists.
If you took the time to read your bible you will learn that it says: “The son will not be held accountable for the father’s sin, and neither the father for the sons”.
Why don’t you pose this question to your local elder?
It kind of blows away the main JW teaching that we must and will die for the original sin. Like most Christian teachings, in my opinion this is a load of horseshit.
PS. If you want the scripture regarding the above give this comment an answer and I will show you as I know most JW do not even have a clue to most of Bible teachings, other than the interpretations of some very dubious Bible scholars.
Cheers,
Markus
Elyssabelle,
It is sad that many people who come to this website use language that is unrefined or acceptable in most conversations. If you will read, many of the posts are filled with worthy comments.
I made an effort to study your JW belief. Someone was generous enough to get for me the bible you use as well as the “Reasoning from the Scriptures” and “Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life”. I have taken advantage of this website and the sharing of information from many of the contributors. I had no ax to grind and I was looking for the “TRUTH”. The difference between me and most of the people who become JW’s was the fact that I had spend most of my life in study of the bible.
If you really study the information provided in this website and leave with no questions for your leaders, then you need to close the door on all of us and go about your blissful life and enjoy your religion.
I find it truly hilarious that those who persecute the JW’s are the unable to communicate effectively enough to defend their viewpoints and resort to vulgarities and insults. The JW’s are absolutely not a cult, although it is a strict religion and takes dedication to be a JW it is something that is done because JW’s truly believe in what the bible says. JW’s are more than happy to do it. JW’s know that 90% of the information found on the internet is false and vicious about the JW’s and it’s a shame that there aren’t more sites with factual information. Every belief and practice that is done by JW’s can be referenced back to bible. The bible was never changed nor altered. JW’s are Christians that follow the bible and are never, ever discouraged to do research. In fact, it has always been encouraged to ask questions. I challenge all those who persecute the JW’s to do more research on your own religion, ask a JW about theirs before you jump to conclusion that you do not know simply because you do not know any better..
I don’t understand how you can say ” Why is it that they always go after the Watchtower or the governing body when neither are relevant to the life of Jehovah’s Witnesses? look at what it says “It should be expected that the Lord would have a means of communication to his people on the earth, and he has clearly shown that the magazine called The Watchtower is used for that purpose.” 1939 Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses, p. 85.”
Make haste to identify the visible theocratic organization of God that represents his king, Jesus Christ. It is essential for life. Doing so, be complete in accepting its every aspect.” The Watchtower, October 1, 1967, p. 591.
“We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the ‘faithful and discreet slave’ organization.” The Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981.
This is an outright lie. Trust me, my family may even admit it if they weren’t so pathetically in love with this false prophet, they have seen first hand the effects of ones who question doctrine after viewing web sites such as this.
Fred despite your other comments of lunacy, are you currently utilizing theocratic warfare (in our world it’s called lying) with such comments?
Anyone with even a reasonable level of intelligence will be able to easily correlate the machinations of the Watchtower with the known aspects of how cults operate. May be you believe that your statements are some form of rebuttal, however they are laughable to those of us who lived the JW life.
Considering that your religion has not created or uttered one correct prophecy since its inception, ran its operation in the same manner as a cult, is totally clueless on deal with its own problems (i.e. pedophiles), was involved with the UN despite its attitude towards it, you have a lot of audacity to propose others should wake up.
No sir, you need to pull your head out from the Watchtower’s ass and wake up!
Why is it that the opposers can not discuss matters in a civil manner?
Why is it that they always go after the Watchtower or the governing body when neither are relevant to the life of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
For that matter, why do people focus on the elders and judical matters rather than on what is virtuous?
Chad,
And that is better than the alternative, now isn’t it?
Theocratic is not about the Governing body and people need to stop focusing on them. Theocratic means that it follows the direction of the bible.
The governing body is to Jehovah’s Witnesses what the president is to Americans. Not relevant to our daily life.
The fact that you are writing in all caps shows that you know nothing about how to communicate which means that you know nothing about listening to Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The WTBTS is not a cult and neither is the religion of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Contrary to what you say, the elders do not care about people looking around online. They know that I do it and they said that.
“authoritatively minded WatchTower Bible and Tract Society.”
That is all fiction. Whatever minded the WTBTS is, it has no effect or bearing on Jehovah’s Witnesses.
People need to wake up and see that.
I once read in this this site that the watch tower society would like to do to the whole universe including babies and newborns and embrios, what terrorist, hitler, stalin, pol pot, cannibals, torturers, serial killers and the like did and do to their victims.
I agree. Totally.
if they ( the Towers of All Terrors) do not do this it’s not because the statement above is false but because they haven’t (yet) got that amount of power that would allow them to do that and much more!
Assholes would read comment like this as an exaggeration: that is another evidence of the far-reaching powers and of the depth of the Towers of All Terrors masterful deception.
Well, I guess you said a mouthful…LOL. i hear ya. we do need theocratic guidance, it will come in time. Lord hep us all.
Jehovah’s Theocratic arrangement? Hmm, well according to the Org., the FDS has been given all authority over the master’s belongings etc. And yet the FDS has NO authority within the Org. It is run by a few self-appointed men called the Governing Body, which is not answerable to the FDS in any way. Also, decisions within the GB are made by a two thirds majority, which is democratic, not theocratic.
i was a jw…i am now an exjw…jws hurt, frame, and
punish…jws “theocratic warfare” is a way to lie to
protect themselves…they teach their children to lie…
they teach my child to lie…their committee cheat…
and has anybody seen the picture from england…
jw/united nations drama?.sodomizing the truth…for a
library card?…how many of you know of the thousands
of sexual abuses and coverups?…jw/un drama just
another “it never happened”…
I READ THE COMMENTS MADE BY MR. JASON LLOYAL AND THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK AND COULD NOT KEEP FROM REPLYING TO MR. LLOYAL’S COMMENT. I DO NOT HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY YEARS HE HAS BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE GREAT W.T.B.T.S. BUT HE NEEDS TO FIND OUT WHAT A CULT HE BELONGS TO. I AM SURPRISED THAT HE IS ON THE INTERNET LOOKING AROUND. IF THE BIG BOYS NEW HE WAS ON LINE LOOKING AT THESE THINGS THEY WOULD WANT TO TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT. I HAVE 47-YEARS OF THEIR PROGRAM AND FINALLY FOUND OUT WHAT KIND OF CULT THEY WERE. I AM ASHAMED OF INVITING OTHERS TO COME EVEN CLOSE TO THEM. ANYONE THAT MR. PAUL McCOOL CAN TELL THE TRUTH TO, I WOULD APPLAUD HIM FOR DOING IT.
I can only hope this book is not another vehicle for complaining about Jehovah’s way of directing the congregation through His Theocratic arrangement. I have not read it, but, from the brief description . . . I am not sure I desire to.
I want to thank you for placing my book on your website. It came as a complete surprise to me !
My best,
Paul McCool
